
STEAM BREAD Siopao 3 cups of warm water 3 packages of yeast 1 1/2 cup of sugar 1 teaspoon of salt 1/3 evaporated milk 9 cups of flour 5/6 tablespoons of butter 2 eggs Mix all ingredients together. Add flour slowly a little at a time. Let rise for 1 hour (30 minutes for quickrise yeast). After it has risen knead dough for about 5 minutes, adding a little flour each time. Oil counter or breadboard. Use small pieces to from a ball, flatten ball out on oiled counter or breadboard. Add about 1 or 2 slices of hard boiled egg and 1 tablespoon of filling. Pull up edges to close into a ball.Use cut up pieces(2"x2") plain white paper or waxed paper to keep close. Let rise for another 1 hour (30 minutes for quickrise yeast) then steam for 30 minutes. Makes between 30 and 36. NOTE:USE YOUR FAVORITE FILLINGS, I LIKE MINE W/ROAST PORK W/GRAVY. |
